The Greek proverb you referenced leads me to think that a tree once planted with good intentions, though left behind, shall satisfy both the planter and the supplanter. The supplanter will be gifted with the work that never ends. 🍁 🍂 raking, pollen, trimming, seedlings…. It’s a comforting thought to have when tptb finally decide it’s time that we own nothing and are happy. 🙄 Seriously, though, I’m grateful for your almanac advice. It’s been helpful for my garden planning.

ha ha, you are so right about trees. They are a lot of work, but worth it for the thrill of the new birth of budding leaves and blossoms on the flowering trees, the relaxing and cooling shade on a hot summer day, and stunning fall colors. Here I'll have to agree with Joyce Kilmer, "I think that I shall never see, a poem lovely as a tree".🌳

Glad you're finding the almanac useful. I got so immersed with work, I missed the second half of February & first half of March posting. The weather was nice Sunday so I did some pruning of my shrub roses and hydrangeas, then scolded myself for not waiting another week or two. Hope my impatience didn't harm them.

I’m kidding of course. I do love trees. I guess I was thinking of Deleuze and Guattari’s The Rhizome and how they hated trees. I chose to write a critique of it years ago for a class in literary theory, and my mind is still tangled up in the roots. 😵‍💫
